Scoutmaster Benediction

May all Scouts be prepared to go
not only upon the earthly trails
but also upon the heavenly trails;
whether it be in the early dawn of youth
or the twilight of old age.
To this end,
may the Great Master of all Scouts keep our hearts and minds
until we meet again.

Scout Vesper

(Tune:   Tannenbaum)

Softly falls the light of day,
While our campfire fades away.
Silently each Scout should ask:
“Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright?
Can I guiltless sleep tonight?Have I done and have I dared.
Everything to be prepared?”

Welcome to Troop 63

Welcome To Troop 63!     Troop 63 is 51 years old - Chartered in 1956

Our website is dedicated to helping our scouts follow their program and see where we're going and where we've been.  Feel free to look around.  We do not use scout's last names.  Please see the privacy policy, print out the Website Permission Form and bring to a meeting. (forms are available at the meeting also)

We are committed to providing the adventures, learning opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that can assist our Scouts in developing character, discipline, confidence and self esteem.

We meet each Monday at the Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church located on Route 173 in Stewartsville, NJ from 7:00-8:30.  Click on Venture Crew 63 to learn about our Venturing program for all youth 14-21 years old.

Our scouts and troop are growing!!!  Please help, donate your outgrown uniform to our uniform exchange program.  We can recycle scout pants, shirts, belts and tee shirts for other scouts to use. We have some pants, shorts and shirts but need more. Any scout related clothing is welcome for youth and adults.

Four Rules of Scouting
by Barry Bingham
  1. Scouting is for the Scouts.  It's all about the Scouts
  2. Anything that adds to Number One is good.
  3. Anything that detracts from Number One is bad.
  4. In case of confusion or debate, go back to Number One

Scoutmaster's Minute

     May 08
"It is not enough to have a good mind.  The main thing is to use it well."
         Rene Descartes (1596-1650)

     April 08
"In this age of technicians and scientific marvels, the individual still counts.
That in crisis, the character of a man, or men, will make the difference."
(President Richard Nixon welcoming home the crew of Apollo 13)

       March 08
"... to me life had lost its relish when liberty was gone."
        Olaudah Equiano (1745-1801)

        February 08

"First, believe in yourself... believe you can make a difference,
and second, if you lose and fall on your face,
get up, wipe yourself off, and go at it again."
Percy E. Sutton, Eagle Scout 1936
Tuskegee Airman, civil rights activist, business and political leader

       January 08
How to lose a big but this year....

        ...but if only I knew!
        ...but if only I tried!
        ...but only if I saved!
...but how did he do it?
It takes more than physical exercise to loose a big but,
Snooze... Reduce... lose... YOU Choose!  ~ J. Verkade

      December
May the father of all mercies scatter light, and not darkness, upon our paths,

and make us in all our several vocations useful here,
and in His own due time and way everlastingly happy.      George Washington
